Francis J. “Skip” Giampietro, 84 of Mountain Top, passed away Monday morning, October 12, 2020 at his home.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Dominic and Lorraine (Pahler) Giampietro.

Frank was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1953 and St. Bonaventur University, New York. He was employed as a supervisor at RCA, Mountain Top, and last as an analyst for the NSA until his retirement. Frank was a family man who was very spiritual. He was an avid high school and college wrestling fan and supporter of his sons and grandson. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Jude Council #6440, Mountain Top.

He was preceded in death by his brother Emil Giampietro, sister Rosemarie Kohl and son-in-law John Yanko.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Edith Farley, Mountain Top, children Matthew Giampietro and his wife Nadine, Mark Giampietro and his wife Cecilia, Christine O’Hara and her husband Joseph, Elaine Yanko, and Robert Giampietro and his wife Ruth, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters and will be expecting his first great-grandson in February, sisters Mary Weidlich, and Margaret Ann Manzonie and her husband John, brothers John Giampietro and his wife Diane, and Joseph Giampietro and his wife Nancy, several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 16, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, 520 South Hanover Street, Nanticoke, PA 18634, with Father James R. Nash, Pastor, officiating. Masks are required at church during the funeral mass and please practice social distancing. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.
