Eugenia “Jenny” Waslasky, 86 of Plains Township, fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, December 6, 2018, the Feast of St. Nicholas, at Celtic Hospice, Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Martha (Krochmuluk) Turchin.

Jenny was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1950, and was employed at Lazarus Department Store, Wilkes-Barre, was an aide for Bayada Nursing, and last at the Wilkes-Barre Y.M.C.A. as a child care worker.

A woman of great dedication and faith to her church, she was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre. Jenny was a king hearted woman who always had a kind word or compliment about everyone she came in contact with.

She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Waslasky on January 6, 2015, brothers John and William Turchin.

Surviving are her children Thomas Waslasky and his wife Karen, Plains, Debra Rossi and her husband Joel, Buck Hill Falls, Kathleen Banks, Inkerman, and Wayne Waslasky and his wife Michelle, Plains, 9 grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters.

Funeral Services for Jenny will be held Monday, December 10, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, with the Very Rev. Paul Wolensky, Pastor of SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre, officiating. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery, Blanchard Street, Plains. Family and friends may call Monday morning from 10:00 am until the time of service at the Funeral Home.

Memorial donations would be graciously received at Jenny’s beloved home parish of SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, 635 North River Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705.
