Ellen M. Kosmala, 48 of Plains, Township, passed away Friday afternoon at the home of her parents after a courageous battle against Cancer, with her family by her side.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Ellen was the daughter of Ronald and Dorothy (Lavelle) Kosmala of Kingston.

Ellen was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, Luzerne County Community College, where she earned an Associate Degree in Fine Arts, and Kutztown University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. She was a member of St. Ignatius Church, Kingston, and was employed by Sears Logistics in Quality Control and as a photographer.

Ellen was an incredibly talented artist who enjoying spending her time painting and taking photographs of her family, pets, friends and nature. Ellen had a love for animals, rescuing many pets throughout the years, including her most beloved pet, her late dog Darlene. She also enjoyed had a passion for the outdoors, spending many nights at her camper throughout the summers.

She was preceded in death by her infant brother Michael Kosmala.

Surviving in addition to her parents Ronald and Dorothy, are her brothers Thomas and Daniel Kosmala, Kingston, several cousins.

Funeral will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 8:30 am from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, PA 18705, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Ignatius Church, 339 North Maple Street Kingston, PA 18704, with Father Alex Roche, officiating. Interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains. Friends and family may call Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 E. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702, Candy´s Place, 190 Welles Street, Forty Fort, PA 18704, or to the charity of one’s choice.
