Elizabeth M. Dohman, 92 of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday morning, June 8, 2017 at Little Flower Manor Nursing Home, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Elizabeth R. (Horn) Baab.

Elizabeth was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School, Wilkes-Barre, and was employed as a secretary for Planters Peanuts, Wilkes-Barre. Later she was employed by the Wilkes-Barre Area School District as a lunch aid at the Franklin Street School, and Kistler Elementary School, Wilkes-Barre.

She was a lifelong and devoted member of St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre. Elizabeth had a wonderful love of children and held a special devotion to the Rosary, reciting it multiple times a day.

She was preceded in death by her husband William L. Dohman on December 19, 2011. She and Bill would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on June 9, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Mary Beth Jones, great-grandson Jacob William Jones, sister Rita Baab, and her brothers Carl and Frank Baab.

Surviving are her children Elise Owens and her husband John Wunner, William Dohman and his wife Debbie, all of Wilkes-Barre, Dianne Naugle and her husband Robert, Exeter, and Theresa McDermott and her husband John, Nanticoke, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, brother George Baab, Mountain Top, many nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth’s family would like to offer a special Thank You to Debbie Miller from Home Instead and the 2nd Floor Staff at Little Flower Manor for their wonderful and compassionate care of Elizabeth. They would also like to thank Elizabeth’s roommate at Little Flower Manor, Marian Leo for her love and friendship during Elizabeth’s last months.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 12, 2017 at 9:00 am at St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702, with Father Joseph Verespy, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre. Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to church Monday morning. Family and friends may call Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.
