Elaine J. Corcoran, 77 of Plains Township, passed away Tuesday evening, January 18, 2022 at River View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Plains, PA.

Born in Plains, she was the daughter of the late Michael & Margaret (Olsakovsky) Wassil.

Elaine was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1961, and Wilkes-Barre Business College. She was employed as the office manager at Simpson Building Supply, Kingston, for 23 years, Hudson Building Supply for 10 years, and last at Huttig Building Products, both of Hanover, for 10 years. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin.

Elaine loved her family more than anything especially her daughter and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching and loudly cheering for Kyle and Jacob in all their sports. Elaine was a wonderful cook and was best known for her love of baking, especially pies. She cherished having her family together every Christmas and looked forward each year sharing the kitchen with Abby and Gwen making cookies. Elaine looked forward to her frequent phone calls with Marge and Michael reminiscing about the “good old days”. Her memory will live on through the traditions shared with her family for generations to come.

Surviving are her daughter Cheryl Lupas and her husband Judge David Lupas, Laflin, grandchildren Kyle, Jacob, Abigail, and Gwyneth Lupas, sister Margaret Novak and her husband Robert, Wilkes-Barre, and brother Michael Wassil and his wife Hope, Lansdale, PA, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.

Memorial donations may be made in Elaine’s name to Plains Volunteer Ambulance Association or the SPCA of Luzerne County.
