Edward J. Zawatski, 85, of Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday morning, February 18, 2015 at Golden Living –
East Mountain Manor, Plains Twp., with his family by his side.

Born in Plains, he was the son of the late Edward and Agnes (Katinsky) Zawatski and was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School.

Edward was an Army Veteran and was employed for Commonwealth Telephone Company until his retirement.

In addition to his parents Edward is preceded in death by his Brother, Carl Zawatski.

Surviving are his wife, the former Louise Olszewski, who was his devoted and loving caretaker during his extended illness, daughter, Mary Lou Roos and her husband Richard, Wilkes-Barre, sons, Edward Zawatski and his wife Mary Lou, Sellersville, Pa., and Mark Zawatski and his wife Beth, Dushore, Pa.; grandchildren, Eric, Allison, Sarah, Ashley, Justine, Jessica and Kaycee, brothers ; Joseph Zawatski, Plains, Robert Zawatski, Shickshinny; and Eugene Zawatski and his wife Maryann, White Haven, sister, Connie Lewis and her husband, John, Harding Pa., numerous nephews and nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 10:00 am in St. Maria Goretti Church 42 Redwood Drive Laflin, PA 18702 with Monsignor Neil Van Loon, pastor, officiating. The Parish Rosary Group will pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Rosary in the Church 30 minutes before the Funeral Mass. All are invited to attend. Family and friends may call from 9:00 am until time of mass at church.
