Bisbing, Jr. January 17, 1948 - June 25, 2016 Service Date: June 30, 2016 Funeral Home Corcoran Funeral Home Inc Cemetery Chapel Lawn Memorial Park Church Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc. Earl D. Bisbing, Jr., 68 of Kingston, and formerly of Plains Twp., passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the Edward M. Poe Hospice Care Center, Titusville, Florida. Born in Pittston, he was the son of Earl D. Bisbing, Sr. of Swoyersville, and the late Emma Mae (Redick) Bisbing. Earl was a graduate of Elmer L. Meyers High School, class of 1965 and was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Aviation Machinists Mate, Petty Officer 3rd Class. From 1967 to 1971, Earl served aboard The USS Shangri-La, as an Intermediate Jet Mechanic. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he was employed for Bell Telephone as a mechanic and later for Penn Refrigeration as a truck driver and installer. Earl was a member of the Plains Lions Club, serving two terms as Club President, three years as club Treasurer and was Chairman of the Annual Lions Old Home Week. Earl was also currently a Cabinet Member of District 14-W, Lions Club International. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter Amy in 1978, and his brother Charles in 2003. Surviving in addition to his father, are his wife of 48 years the former Beth Blower, daughter Laurie Gallas and her husband John, Carbondale, sons David Bisbing, Hanover and Craig Bisbing, grandchildren Caitlin Rushnock and John Gallas, and brother Glenn Bisbing and his wife Beverly, Cocoa, Florida. Earl’s family would like to offer a special Thank You to Tammy Gold of Geisinger Home Health for her compassionate and wonderful care of Earl. Funeral Services for Earl will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South main Street Plains, PA 18705. Interment with Military Honors will be held in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Memorial Highway, Dallas. Friends and family may call Thursday from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
