Dorothy M. Kosmala, 81 of Kingston, passed away Monday afternoon, June 28, 2021 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital with her family by her side.

Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes (Freeman) Lavelle.

Dorothy was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Kingston, Class of 1958, and was a homemaker all of her life. She was a member of the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, Kingston, The Red Hat Society, and was an avid bowler for over 60 years. She was also a member of the 30 Club Bowling League where she served as secretary.

Dorothy was a world traveler, visiting Russia, Mexico, The Bahamas, and most of the countries throughout Europe. She was an avid animal lover and loved being in nature.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Ellen Kosmala on October 30, 2015, infant son Michael Kosmala, sisters Madeline Wilson, Frances Doran, and Rita Weaver.

Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Ronald Kosmala, sons Daniel and Thomas Kosmala, all of Kingston, numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Friday, July 2, 2021 at 9:30 am from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705, with a Mass of Christian Burial at The Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, 339 N. Maple Avenue, Kingston, PA 18704. Interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains, PA. Family and friends may call Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice in Dorothy’s memory.
