Dear Chelle: I am so sorry for your loss and extend by deepest condolences to you and your entire family. I would also like to take you briefly down memory lane to when I first met your Mom when she came to visit you in Philadelphia and you invited me to dinner serving Dorothy's now infamous pasta sauce, which caused me to instantly become an extended family member. Your Mom made me feel like her daughter and I am honored to join you in singing her praises as a gentle, caring and gracious woman who would do ANYthing for ANYone with love and kindness in her heart. Love Always with Hugs and Kisses, Chana XOXOXO

My sincere condolences to Michelle, Teresa, Kim, Michael, Lou and the rest of Dorothy's extended family. I'll always remember Dorothy as a warm, kind human being who always put her family and friends first. I first met her 40 years ago and will always be grateful for her welcoming spirit. She made me feel part of the family from the day we met. I think we also connected because of our mutual love of food. Her brother and my partner Gene was always consulting with her about recipes for Polish, Ukranian, and Italian specialties. I remember well the day I spent watching her make her famous pasta sauce. She gave me step by step instructions, which I carefully wrote down. Amazingly I came across these instructions a few weeks ago while going through my papers. I'm going to have to get out my pots and try the recipe, but there's no way I will be able to duplicate her sauce. Dorothy was one in a million and I will treasure my memory of her.
