Doris T. Chiucchi, 88, of the Keystone section of Plains, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 6, 2021 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in the Fox Hill section of Plains, she was the daughter of the late James B. and Myrtle (Gruver) Howe.

Doris attended Plains Memorial High School and was employed in the garment industry, but above all was a great homemaker.

Known to her Grandchildren as “Nonni Doris”, she was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother, who loved to watch baseball, game shows, color, eat pizza and go to D.Q. Doris was worth a Million Laughs.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Ernest “Gow” Chiucchi on February 18, 2009, Brothers Robert, Albert “Skippy” James B. and Harry Howe; Sisters Margaret Zimmerman and Lorraine Koches.

Surviving are her Son James Chiucchi and his Wife Gloria, Plains, Daughter, Debbie Rutkoski and Husband Joseph, Larksville; Grandchildren; Jillian Ferentz and husband Mark, James Chiucchi and Wife Missy, and Jeffrey Chiucchi and wife Jillian, Joseph and Matthew Rutkoski; great-grandchildren Jameson and Evelyn Chiucchi and Mason and Logan Ferentz, Brother Arthur Howe and Wife Andrea, Larksville and Sister Nancy Nahill, Parsons and Sister-in-law, Marie Ulicny, Keystone, nephews and nieces.

Doris’ family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Highland Park Senior Living, and the ER and Palliative Care Doctors, nurses, and staff of Geisinger Medical Center, for the wonderful care given to Doris.

Private funeral services will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.

Memorial donations if desired may be made to Alzheimer´s Association: Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 57 North Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
