Donna Marie Yankowski, 78 of Plains Township and formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday morning, June 25, 2020 at her home.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late James T. and Catherine R. (Rogers) Farrell.

Donna was a graduate of St. Nicholas Catholic School, Wilkes-Barre, and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, until her retirement. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre.

Donna was a special woman who adored all of her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Bethany Lynn Pilch, and her sister Patricia Farrell Konecke.

Surviving are her daughters Erin Pilch, Plains, and Lynn Murphy and her husband Kevin, Haddon Heights, NJ, son William Yankowski, Jr., and his wife Nancy, Plains, grandchildren Matthew, Timothy, and Patrick Pilch, Catherine Yankowski, Sean and Liam Murphy, step-grandchildren Angela and Gary Milazzo, great-grandchildren Neo, David James, Cameron, and Calvin, sister Susan Thomas, Show Low, AZ, nieces and nephews.

Donna’s family would like to thank John Heinz Transitional Rehab Unit, Allied Home Health Services and Allied Palliative Services for the wonderful care given to their mother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 29, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Nicholas Church, 226 South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701. Those attending the Funeral Mass, please go directly to church Monday morning. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Family and friends may call Sunday afternoon, June 28, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705. Due to the ongoing pandemic, restrictions have been put in place by the CDC and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Those attending the visitation at the funeral home or the Funeral Mass, please follow the practice of social distancing and masks are required at the funeral home and church.
