Diane R. Karavitch, 58 of the Hudson section of Plains Township, passed away Saturday morning, July 2, 2022 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of Thomas and Ann (White) Jones of Wilkes-Barre.

Diane was a graduate of Bishop Hoban High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1981 and earned her degrees in Child Psychology and Surgical Technology at Luzerne County Community College. She was employed as a Surgical Technician and Head of Sterilization at Geisinger Wyoming Valley until her retirement. Diane Also worked on the medical team for Donate Life America.

Diane had the capacity to achieve anything in her life, but her passion involved raising her children and assisting in the upbringing of her grandchildren as she was very active in all phases of their lives. She had a heart of gold and placed the wellbeing of her family and friends above her own. She was a very talented artist who was passionate about her artwork and carried her skills with her throughout her life. Anyone who knew Diane, knew that she was involved in all local humanitarian organizations including Larksville American Legion Post 655 where she was on the Auxiliary Board. She dedicated her time and love to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, which is where she rescued her partner in crime Winnie.

Surviving in addition to her parents Tom and Ann, are her children Allie Karavitch, Larksville, Jake Karavitch, Plains, Emily Karavitch, Easton, grandchildren Gabby and Jonah Miller, and Charlotte and Maisey Maloney, brothers and sisters, T.J. Jones and his wife Bernadine, Plains, Gayle Delgado and her wife Liza, Wellington, FL, John Jones and his wife Mary Ellen, and Leigh Ann Engle and her husband Daniel, all of Wilkes-Barre, her buddy and rescue dog, Winnie, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Diane will be held Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 7:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
