David Wayne Brody of Edwardsville passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born April 26, 1966, in Amsterdam, NY, he was a son of the late John and Janice (Miller) Brody.

David was a 1984 graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School and then worked for Olympic Pools and Asahi Chemicals.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.

David fought through everything and anything that life threw at him, with his loving wife, Cathy, by his side. He loved watching and playing football with his son, Josh, and he was the biggest supporter of his daughter, Megan, at all of her basketball games. David always made family vacations memorable, especially for his daughter, Bekah, who loved riding bikes with him on the boardwalk. His daughter, Beth, always looked forward to cooking with him. He was a devoted family man whose sense of humor, ability to make people smile, and strength will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Brody.

Surviving are his wife of 24 years, the former Catherine Ziemba; daughters, Bethany, Megan, and Rebekah Brody, Edwardsville; son, Joshua Brody, Edwardsville; brother, James Brody and his wife, Camille, Fredericksburg, VA; sister, Mary Neely and her husband, Don, Plymouth; sister-in-law, Ruth Brody; and nieces, Valerie Brody, Mountain Top; Ashley Demchak, Aquia Harbour, VA; Alyson Culver, Sweet Valley.

Funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc. 20 S Main St., Plains, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:15 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 126 Nesbitt St., Larksville, with Father Gerald J. Gurka, pastor, officiating.  Interment will be held in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.

Family and friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m at the funeral home.
