Loiacono, Sr., 65 of Plains Township, passed away Wednesday evening, December 1, 2021 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Plains, Township, after a courageous battle against Cancer. Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Frederick and Regina (Karvalis) Loiacono. Dave was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, Class of 1974, and attended York College. Dave was employed at Muskin Pools, and last at T.J. Maxx as a supervisor until his retirement. A man of great faith, Dave was a devoted member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains, where he served as an Eucharistic Minister, and would often serve the funeral masses. Dave was also an avid gardener, enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, and visiting Florida with his best friends, Dave and Kathy. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, the former Carolyn A. Grucella, sons David Loiacono, Jr., and his wife Crystal, Plains, and Mark Loiacono, Los Angeles, CA, sister Mary Theresa Adamczyk and her husband Bernie, Mountain Top, Aunt Marilyn Monahan, Moscow, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. David’s family would like to thank the nurses, aides, and staff of the 3rd floor at Geisinger, along with Dr. Michael Fox, Dr. Arthur Meyer, Dr. Azeredo, and Dr. Levadka, for the wonderful care and compassion given to Dave. Funeral will be held Monday, December 6, 2021 at 9:30 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. A Live Stream of the Funeral Mass will be on Saints Peter & Paul Parish FACEBOOK page. Interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains, PA.
