David E. Hargrave, Sr.

David E. Hargrave, Sr., 79 of the Mayflower section of Wilkes-Barre, PA, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 23, 2024 at his home with his family by his side.

Born on April 27, 1945 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Bernetski) Hargrave.

Dave attended G.A.R. Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre, and was self-employed as an antique dealer until his retirement.

Dave especially enjoyed watching war movies, feeding the birds with his poopsie, and he most enjoyed devoting his love to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Christina Hargrave, sisters Barbara Dolny, Patricia Thoma, and Jean Harvey, brothers Donald Hargrave and John “Jack” Hargrave, III, and sister-in-law Lena DeBiase.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years Marguerite A. (DeBiase) Hargrave, Wilkes-Barre, children David Hargrave and his fiancé Shirl Evans, Wilkes-Barre, Dominic Hargrave and his wife Davian, Larksville, Deanna Uniatowski and her husband Rodney, Wilkes-Barre, Darlene Shaffern and her husband Dave, Plymouth, Debra Krokos and her husband John, Fort Mill, SC , and Derek Hargrave and his wife Melody, Swoyersville, grandchildren Erika, Megan, Caitlin, Alexandria, Justin, Sarah, and Logan, great-grandchildren Francisco, Olivia, Madison, Sophia, and Carter, brother Daniel Hargrave, Sr., Hellertown, PA, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Dave will be held Monday, July 1, 2024 at 6:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA  18705.  Family and friends may call Monday afternoon from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in Dave’s memory.
