Daniel C. Belch

Daniel C. Belch, 55, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 18, 2024 at his home with his family by his side.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Paul and Louise (Skelston) Belch.

Daniel was a graduate of Scranton High School, received an Associate Degree in Science from Luzerne County Community College and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wilkes-University, in May of 2001.

Daniel honorably served our Country as an Army Veteran, a member of the 109th field artillery, Kingston, and re-enlisted into the Air Force serving as a 1st Lieutenant, Medical Specialist. During his career he received the Defense Service Medal with 1 service star, Army Service Ribbon, Army of occupation (Berlin) Medal.

He loved camping, music, and going to concerts on the patio.  He also enjoyed being around family and friends, and was always the life of the party.  Everyone who knew Danny has a wonderful memory and story to share.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Brother Paul Belch and Sister Barbara Miller.

Surviving are his Wife, Catherine (Kelly Green) Belch, Wilkes-Barre; Daughters, Angel Williamson and her Husband Michael, Georgia; Valerie Belch, Germany, and Rebecca Belch Wilkes-Barre; Sons, William “Willy” Berkowitz, Jr. and his Wife Anna, San Fernando, California; Edward “Eddie” Berkowitz, and Jonathan” Jon Jon” Berkowitz, both of Wilkes-Barre: Grandchildren, Natalie, Noah, Grayson, Amalie Sophie and Rohan;  Brother, William Belch and his wife Lisa, Rochester, Minnesota; Sister Nancy Belch, Olyphant, Pa., Nephews and Nieces.

Danny’s family wishes to thank Allied Service for their compassion and care given to Danny, especially Darleen Shimko for her amazing care of Danny for many, many years.

Funeral Services with Military Honors accorded by the United States Air Force and the Plains American Legion Funeral Honors Detail will be held Monday, June 24, 2024 at 6:00 pm from the Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, with Deacon Donald Crane, officiating. Family and friends may call Monday afternoon from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
