Daniel A. Branas, 75 of the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, December 1, 2018 at his home.

Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Andrew & Agnes (Bria) Branas.

Dan was a graduate of Jenkins Township High School, and was an Army Veteran. He was employed at Carter Footwear and currently at Mom & Pop’s Pierogis, both of Wilkes-Barre.

Dan was very active in Military Affairs and was a member of the Plains American Legion, Joseph E. Conlon, Post 558, and was the Service Officer of the Plains Legion Funeral Honor Guard. He was a member of St. Benedict’s Church, Parsons.

Danny was an avid Elvis Presley Fan and would take yearly trips to Graceland every August to celebrate Elvis’ life and music.

He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Branas.

Surviving are his son Daniel W. Branas, daughter Danielle Price, both of Bear Creek, 2 grandchildren, and lifelong companion of 38 years, Pat Stella, Miners Mills.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 10:00 am in Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Military Honors accorded by the United States Army and his comrades from the Plains American Legion will take place following mass. Family and friends may call Wednesday morning from 9:00 am till 10:00 am at church. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
