Chester Zukowski, 88 of Plains Township, passed away Monday evening, January 25, 2021 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains, after a brief illness.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Victor and Marguerite (Tarnecki) Zukowski.

Chester attended Saints Peter & Paul School, Plains, and was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, attaining the rank of Corporal. Chester attended The Infantry School, Fort Benning, Georgia and was certified as a qualified parachutist, serving with the 187 Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. Upon his honorable discharge from active services, he was employed as a cook at the Skyliner Diner, Pittston, and as a laborer at Acme Warehouse until his retirement.

He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 401, and the V.F.W. Lani Club, Post 6325, Irishtown.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, the former Eleanor M. Daring on March 24, 2019, sisters Florence Koschak, Helen Musloe, Margaret Zasada, brothers Joseph, Edward, and Leo Zukowski.

Surviving are his children Chester R. Zukowski and his wife Myra, Wilkes-Barre, Pamela Dolman and her husband Frank, Trucksville, and Sheree Zukowski and her companion Craig Parks, Lily Lake, grandchildren Kyle, Jordan, and Felix Dolman, Danielle Potoski and her husband Lenny, David Duke, Alyssa Heck and her husband Mark, Joshua Zukowski and his fiancée Shiniese Jones, Robert Zukowski and his fiancée Kelsey Schiel, and Katie Rose Zukowski, great-grandchildren Rosalyn Heck, Madeline Potoski, Elyana Zukowski, Lacie Zukowski, and Liam Zukowski, sister Catherine Wasickanin and her husband Carl, Hanover Township, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.
