Obituaries » Charles Brunhoelzl November 20, 1920 - May 7, 2018 Charles Brunhoelzl, 97 of Courtdale and proud combat veteran of World War II, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 The Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Plains Township. Born in Patterson New Jersey, he was the son of the late Charles and Gertrude (Hawley) Brunhoelzl. Charles was a proud Army Air Force combat veteran during World War II serving in North Africa and Europe until the war’s end. He was a member of the Plains America Legion, Joseph E. Conlon Post 558. He was employed as an Electrician for MetLife of New York City, until his retirement. He was preceded in death by Four Sisters and Two Brothers. Surviving are his Wife of 44 years the former Barbara Gazdowicz, Courtdale, Daughters, Grandchildren, Nephews, Nieces and Great Nephews and Nieces. The family sends a special thank you to all the staff at the Veterans Hospital for their compassion and wonderful care of Charles the past two years. Funeral Services with Military Honors will be accorded by The United States Army and the Plains American Legion Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00 am from the Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 to 11:00 am Saturday morning. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Charles’ wife Barbara, to be offered by her for a special veteran’s project.Charles Brunhoelzl
