Cathleen Elizabeth Craig, 61 of Plains Township, passed into life eternal unexpectedly at home on Saturday, October 14, 2017.

She was born April 8, 1956 in Kingston, PA to the late Joseph and Mary (Roman) Conway. Cathy was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre and Wilkes-Barre Business College with an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science. She furthered her education by receiving certifications in EKG technology and medical secretarial science. She was an executive secretary in the Public Relations Department at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and was currently the office supervisor for The Renaissance Center for Plastic Surgery. She was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains.

She and her husband, Joseph, observed their 41st wedding anniversary in September.

Cathy gave much to many in countless ways. Those who wish to honor her memory are encouraged to make a difference in someone’s life – an individual, a cause, or an organization – by giving their time, talent, or treasure with the same grace and generosity that Cathy did. Words alone are not enough to honor this special woman, whose kindness, strength, generosity, and compassion were limitless. She endured many struggles in life, but faced them with unending courage and amazing spirit. She never quit, she never gave up hope, and she inspired others with her determination and spirit. She touched many hearts, she loved deeply, she was fiercely loyal, and wickedly funny. She had a huge heart that finally gave too much, and she will be missed more than she could imagine. Our unbearable loss is Heaven’s gain of an incredible new angel. We know you’ll be watching over us, Cathleen.

In addition to her husband Joseph Craig, she is survived by her sister, Nancy Hurst and her husband, Carl, along with their two children, Meghan Daney and Ryan Hurst. She is also survived by her beloved godson, Matthew Gardner, and her longtime best friend, Wilma Gardner and her husband, Gary. She will be especially missed by Bentley, her beloved dog and best buddy. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 at 9:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains, at a later date. There will be no calling hours at Cathy’s request. Arrangements are by the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.
