Carolyn A. “Cor” Vrabel, 86 of Plains Township passed away Friday morning, September 30, 2022 at Allied Services Center City, Wilkes-Barre.

Cor was born in Wilkes-Barre on November 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Frank J. and Wanda (Center) Purta, Sr.

Cor attended James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre and was employed by Prestige Shoe, Wilkes-Barre as a laborer.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, John “Rick” Vrabel, Jr. on October 22, 2011, twin brother Carl Purta, brother Frank Purta, Jr., nieces Debbie (Tirpak) Swetin and Maureen (McGarrity) Redmond.

Surviving are her sisters Barbara McGarrity and Dolores “Dee” Tirpak, both of Wilkes-Barre, nephews, Thomas J. McGarrity, III, Woodstock, GA, Joseph Tirpak, Jr. and Francis Purta, III, nieces, Kathy Tirpak, all of Wilkes-Barre, Colleen & Mark Halkawicz, Lewisburg, and niece, Donna and Krasimir Krumov, Laflin, Cheryl and John Vrabel, Northumberland, and sister-in-law Shirley Vrabel.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Plains, PA. Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.
