Caroline S. Stella, 81 of Plains Township, passed away Sunday morning, June 27, 2021 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Plains, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Malig) Kosek.

Carol was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Plains, Class of 1957 and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery, until her retirement. Carol was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, and was an avid New York Yankees fan.

She and her husband Gregory Stella, celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on October 27, 2020.

Surviving in addition to her husband Greg Stella, owner/operator of Greg Stella’s Barbara Shop, Plains, are her son Mark Stella and his spouse Grady Federer, Cheyenne, Wyoming, daughters Susan Stella, Wyoming, and Mary Stella, Kingston, Grandchildren Lauren, Ashlyn, and Rocco Catina, sister Gloria Gaughan, Houston, Texas, nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 12:30 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705, with a mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA. A Live Stream of the Funeral Mass will be on Saints Peter & Paul Parish FACEBOOK page. Interment will be held in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming. Family and friends may call Thursday morning from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm at the funeral home.
