Carol Ann Smith, 80 of Bear Creek Township, passed away Friday morning, February 15, 2019 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in the Stanton Hill section of Wilkes-Barre Township, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Katherine (McHugh) Rush.

Carol Ann was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School, Wilkes-Barre, and was employed as a seamstress in the garment induatry. She was also employed as a cook at Iorio’s Fireside Inn and the Bear Creek Inn, both of Bear Creek. Carol Ann also loved to cook at home. She was a member of the I.L.G.W.U, and the Mountain Top American Legion, Post 781.

She was preceded in death by her husband John S. Smith on June 2, 2002, siblings James, Harold “Bucky”, Michael, John “Duke”, Mary, Callie and two infant siblings.

Survivig are her sons John Smith and his companion Shari Ide, Bear Creek Township, and Christopher Smith and his wife Jacqueline Jacobs, Blakeslee, numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Carol Ann followed by burial will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 9:30 am in the Chapel at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1594 South Main Street, Hanover Township, PA 18706. Arrangements by the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.
