Carmen G. Chiumento, 97 of Plains Township, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 28, 2021 at the United Methodist Homes, Wesley Village Campus, Jenkins Township.

Born in Yatesville, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Grace (Marmo) Chiumento.

Carmen was a graduate of Jenkins Township High School, Class of 1942, and was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was employed as a labor foreman at SCI – Dallas, until his retirement. He was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains, and was an avid gardener.

Carmen was preceded in death by his Sister Emma Chiumento, and Brothers Anthony, Nicholas, and Pasquale Chiumento.

Surviving are his Wife of 72 years the former Sophie Galinski, son Carmen Chiumento and his wife Frances, Bernville, PA, daughter Susan Chiumento Mulligan and her husband John, Chalfont, PA, brother Joseph Chiumento and his wife Theresa, Yatesville, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, May 3, 2021 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. A live stream of the Funeral Mass will be on Saints Peter & Paul Parish FACEBOOK page. Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Family and friends may call from 9:00 am until the time of mass Monday at church.

Those attending the visitation and/or funeral mass, we ask that you be brief when paying your respects, please follow the practice of social distancing, and masks are required at all times at church. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in Carmen’s memory.
