Bobby Joe Hastings

August 4, 2024

Bobby Joe Hastings, 81 of Madison Township, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 4, 2024 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania – Pavilion, Philadelphia, PA, with his family by his side.

Born on March 10, 1943 in Wilson, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Herman and Lois (Pilkington) Hastings.

Bob was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, earning the rank of SP5.  While stationed at Tobyhanna Army Depot, he met and married the love of his life, Cynthia Marie Moss.  They were married for nearly 26 years until her passing in 1992.  Prior to a disabling back injury, he was employed as a District Manager by John’s Bargain Stores, by Roadway Trucking, and the Quik Shoppe in Mt. Despite Bob’s health issues, he was the happiest, funniest, and most caring person to be around, and he thrived in his role as Dad, Paha, and Uncle Bobby.

He was preceded in death by his wife Cynthia M. (Moss) Hastings on April 14, 1992, brothers Lee, Donald, Kenneth, and James, and his sister Ruth.

Surviving are his son Ian Hastings and his wife Allison, Dallas, daughter Amy Rolph and her husband Shawn, Madison Township, grandchildren Emma, Abigail, and Sarah Hastings, and Kastier and Jayden Rolph, siblings Terry Phillip, and Shelia, numerous nieces and nephews.
