Bertha M. Jacobs, 98 of the East End of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Friday evening, March 20, 2015, at Timber Ridge Health Care Center, Plains, Twp.

Born in Butte, Montana on June 18, 1916, she was the daughter of Daniel & Susan (Gallagher) Boyle.

Bertha was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, and a member of Holy Saviour Church, East End section of Wilkes-Barre, until its merger with St. Andre Bessette Parish, North Wilkes-Barre. She was a member of the Donegal Society of Wilkes-Barre and the Irish Cultural Society of Scranton.

She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Jacobs in 1969, brothers Daniel and James Boyle.

Surviving are her son Daniel Jacobs , Wilkes-Barre, granddaughter Amy Wilce and her husband Donald, great grandchildren Vanessa, Alyssa, Christina, Brandon, Jesse, Ashley, and Nicholas, great-great-granddaughter Destiny.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 9:30 am in St. Andre Bessette Parish, 666 North Main Street Wilkes-Barre, with Rev. Kenneth M. Seegar, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp. There will be no calling hours. Those attending Wednesday are asked to go directly to church.
