When I heard the news, a shadow crossed my heart. Bernie was the best man anyone would ever want to know. He was one of my best friends since junior high. Bernie isn't gone. I know exactly where he is. John 11:25 Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life, He that believes in me, though he has died, yet shall he live." Joanne, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

We are so sorry for your loss. Bernie was a true gentleman and wonderful person. He was our daughter's basketball coach in the Rolling Mill Hill League. He was a great mentor. Rest easy, Bernie.

To Bernie's Family: I am so sorry for your loss. I grew up with the Jess family. We were part of the "Heights family". Bernie had an infectious smile and was always so cheerful. I ran into him a few times within the last few years and he was as cheerful as ever. God bless and may you take comfort in the memories.

My most heart felt condolences go out to the family of Bernie. He was a man people should be modeled after. Always in a good mood with a positive attitude up to the end. A truly great person. He will be missed by many.
