Bernard W. Luckenbach, 91 of Gaithersburg, Maryland, and formerly of Plains Twp., PA, passed away Monday evening at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville, MD.

Born in Plains, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Alexandra (Bucko) Luckenbach.

Bernard attended Plains Memorial High School, and was an Army Veteran of World War II, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.  After his discharge from the Army he was employed by Miner Hillard and then as a construction foreman in various projects in the area including Wilkes & Susquehanna Steam Electric Station.

He was preceded in death by his wife the former Lottie Serafin on November 16, 1998; brothers Taffil, Edmund, Norbert, Alfred, infant brother Alexander, sisters Alice Hydock, Lillian Sobolewski, and Jessie Slabinski.

Surviving are his children Bernice Doran and her husband John, Darnestown, MD, Raymond Luckenbach and his wife Susan, Annandale, VA, grandchildren Laralyn Gill and her husband Raj, Kerry Doran, and Kimberly Zaccaria and her husband Justin, great-grandchildren Dakota Golliday, Ryan, Jack, and Lauryn Gill, Giuliana, Dominic, and Isabella Zaccaria.

Funeral will be held Friday at 10:30 am from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in SS. Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road  Plains, PA  18705.  Interment will be held in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming.  Friends may call Friday morning from 9:00 am till 10:30 am at the funeral home.
