Chaback, 88 of Plains Township, passed away Wednesday morning, April 5, 2017 at the United Methodist Homes, Wesley Village Campus, Jenkins, Twp., PA. Born in Exeter, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna (Krulock) Chabak. Bernard was a graduate of Exeter High School, and was a Navy Veteran of World War II, serving aboard the U.S.S. Midway as the ship’s first quartermaster. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he was a graduate of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy and served as a State Trooper for 33 years. Upon his retirement as a State Trooper, he and his wife Elizabeth became successful entrepreneurs in the antique business. He was a Life Member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the American Legion He was preceded in death by his wife the former Elizabeth Wallace, and his daughter Camille Esbenshade, Brothers Robert and Andrew Chabak. Surviving are his daughter Claudia Chaback, Plains, sons Mark Chaback, Shiremanstown, PA and Bernard Chaback and his wife Patti, Rochester, NY, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, brothers Eugene Chabak, Exeter, and Albert Chabak, Mechanicsburg, PA, nieces and nephews. We will miss our loving father dearly for all that he has taught us about this world. Funeral will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 9:30 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705, with a Mass of Christian Burial, with Military Honors at 10:00 am in Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Private interment will be held in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming, at the convenience of the family. Friends and family may call Saturday morning from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to U.S.S.
