Obituaries » Bernadetta Ledoretti (Dunn) August 31, 1937 - May 2, 2021 Service Date: May 6, 2021 Funeral Home Corcoran Funeral Home Inc Cemetery Denison Cemetery Church St. Maria Goretti Church Bernadetta Ledoretti, 83, of Plains Township, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Born in Wilkes-Barre on August 31, 1937, raised in the Hilldale section of Plains Township, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Josephine (Bonanni) Dunn. She attended Plains Memorial High School and married her late husband Joseph Ledoretti on her 20th birthday in 1957. “Bernie” was a devoted wife, a selfless mother, a wonderful mother-in-law, and a loving grandmother. She loved and cherished her family most in life. She was known for her good food, providing trays of cookies, cakes, homemade pasta and most of all her homemade pizza. Her enjoyment was sharing all she made with family, friends, customers of the family business, and yes even a few strangers. She opened her home to many dinner parties, with everyone enjoying her company and funny stories. She and her late husband enjoyed ballroom dancing. They would often be seen on WVIA. She had a beautiful singing voice, sometimes performing on local radio in her younger days. For over 60 years, Bernie took pride in her Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve dinner. She will be missed by so many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 2017 and her sister Josephine (JoJo) Dove, brothers-in- law, Thomas Ledoretti and Don Dove. She is survived by her loving son, Joseph Ledoretti and his wife Patricia, Granddaughter Jenna Ledoretti, Sister Irene Filippini (Bob) and sister-in-law Maureen Ledoretti, and nieces and nephew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 10:30 am at St. Maria Goretti Church, 42 Redwood Drive, Laflin, PA 18702, with Father Seth Wasnock, Pastor, officiating. Private family inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children´s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Bernadetta’s name.Bernadetta Ledoretti (Dunn)
A walk through visitation will be held Thursday morning, May 6, 2021 from 9:30 am until the time of mass at church. Those attending the visitation and/or funeral, we ask that you be brief when paying your respects, please follow the practice of social distancing of 3 feet, and masks are required at all times at the church.
