BARRY LELAND KOERBER

Barry Leland Koerber, 78, of Laflin, passed away August 28, 2024, at his home, with his family by his side.

He was the son of the late Albert and Jean (Ruch) Koerber. Barry was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1964, and attended Penn State University in their Drafting and Design Technology program. He was employed in the Wyoming Valley throughout his working career, serving the architectural and building engineering field.

He previously lived in Bear Creek Township, where he was a member of the Bear Creek-Buck Township Lions Club and served as Secretary of the ambulance fund. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre, where he formerly served as Vice-President of Church Council and as an usher.

He is survived by his wife of (24 years) Christina (Shanko) Koerber, son Scott and life-partner Jennifer Forster, Pittsburgh; son Ryan and life-partner Erin Jordan, Forkston; brother Glenn and wife Evelyn, Romulus, Michigan; step-son Alex Shanko and grandchildren.

In accordance with Barry’s wishes, there will be no calling hours and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 190 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701 or to the charity of one’s choice.
