Arline Brodhead, 97 of Plains Township, passed away Wednesday morning, May 12, 2021 at the United Methodist Homes, Wesley Village Campus, Jenkins Township.

Born in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Gertrude (Johns) Shaw.

Arline was a graduate of Plymouth High School, and Wilkes-Barre Business College. She was employed as a clerk at the Social Security Administration and at the Nanticoke State Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of the Plains Senior Citizens Club where she served as the club Treasurer for many years, and was a social member of the Henry Citizens Club, Plains.

Arline was an avid Penn State Fan and enjoyed going to games at Beaver Stadium and loved to roller skate into her late 60’s. Arline was also a big fan and supporter of her granddaughter, Debbie, and would always be there to cheer her on in anything Debbie would do.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Howard James Brodhead in 1966 and her sister Loretta DiMeo in 1991.

Surviving are her daughter Deborah Ann Krakoski and her husband Raymond, granddaughter Deborah Renee Krakoski, sister Gertrude Shaw, all of Plains, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Arline will be held Friday, May 14, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705. Interment will be held in Edgehill Cemetery, West Nanticoke. A walk through visitation will be held Friday morning from 10:00 am until the time of services at the funeral home. Those attending the visitation and/or funeral, we ask that you be brief when paying your respects, please follow the practice of social distancing of 3 feet, and masks are required at all times at the funeral home and cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
