Obituaries » Annabelle Suchoski (Dessoye) March 19, 1936 - May 1, 2022 Service Date: May 9, 2022 Funeral Home Corcoran Funeral Home Inc Cemetery Sacred Heart Cemetery Church Saints Peter and Paul Church Annabelle (Dessoye) Suchoski, 86, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at the Hospice of The Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit in Dunmore. She was born on March 19, 1936 in Wilkes-Barre, PA to John and Anna (Martin) Dessoye. Annabelle grew up in Plains Township and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1953. She had many jobs in her early years but her favorite was working with the Vietnam Veterans Chapter in Plains Township for many years. She met the love of her life, Ed, and married him in 1954 in the former Sacred Heart Church in Plains. They were happily married for 63 years before his passing and were an example to family and friends of what it meant to truly be in love. Annabelle was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Plains and then Saints Peter and Paul Church after its merger. She participated in the Altar and Rosary Society and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She loved life and simple things such as taking a Sunday afternoon ride with her family. She found immense joy with her annual motorhome vacations with family, whether it was fishing trips to Canada, cross-country trips, or many visits to Disney. As long as it was with family she knew the time would always be cherished and remembered. But what was most admired of Annabelle was her love and dedication to her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and “Squeaks”, her buddy cat. Whether it was helping her children move into their new homes, lending a helping hand to care for grandchildren, or taking in a family sporting event, you could always find Annabelle looking out for others. A caring, gentle, loving woman, Annabelle will be sorely missed by all who were graciously touched by her life. One of her final hopes was to see her latest two great grandchildren born. We are all thankful that her wish was fulfilled. Having lived a complete life, we truly believe her husband, Ed, called her home on May 1st to spend their anniversary together. Annabelle was preceded in death by her parents John and Anna Dessoye, her brothers John and Paul Dessoye, and sister Audrey Dessoye. Annabelle is survived by her sons, Ed, Jr. and wife Susie (Bear Creek Twp.); J. Ken and wife Mary (Bear Creek Twp.); Jeff and wife Sue (Hatfield); Mike, Sr. (Plains); daughter Molly Symons and husband Walter J. (Bear Creek Twp.). Grandchildren include Matt, Sara, Mike Jr., Brad, Laura, Ryan, Kenneth, Kim, Brian, and Stephanie. Great grandchildren include Dylan, Mason, Gavin, Olivia, Grant, Natalie, Morgan, Luka, Madison, Abigail, Riley, Milo, Blake, and Gwenivere. Also surviving are her brother Frank Dessoye (Plains), and sisters Gloria Jasterzenski (Luzerne), Kathleen Shea (Plains), and Peggy Fedor (Hooksett, NH). The family expresses endless gratitude and thanks to the entire staff of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their ongoing compassion and care.
