Ann Marie Pappas, 76, of Wilkes-Barre, was taken home to the Lord on Thursday afternoon, May 20, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center, Plains, Pa.

Born in Plains, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Veliky) Evans. Ann Marie was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1963, and was formerly employed at the Audio Hearing Aid Center for 15 years, Family Care Service, The Flower Tent, and Carter Footwear, until her retirement.

She loved cooking, baking, gardening and was a fan of Penn State, Pittsburg Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles and NASCAR.

Ann Marie was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston, and formerly a CCD teacher at the former Holy Saviour Church, East End, Wilkes-Barre.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband Richard ‘Richie’ Pappas on September 7, 2014, sister Patricia Daniels, and her nephew Thomas Daniels.

Surviving are her Daughters Sandy Pappas Zeek and her husband Curtis, Wilkes-Barre, Cheri Pappas, Pringle, and Susan Pappas, Wilkes-Barre, grandchildren, Shawn, Shannon, Rob, Stephanie, Corey and Brent, and Ashlee Castellano and her husband Eric, great-granddaughter, Kaylee; cousin and caretaker Valerie Dragon, nephews and nieces, and her beloved cat, Hazel.

Funeral will be held Monday, May 24, 2021 at 9:00 am from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston, PA 18640. Entombment will be held in Glenwood Mausoleum and Memorial Park, Morgan Highway, Clarks Summit. Family and friends may call Sunday evening, May 23, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Greater Pittston Food Pantry, 37 William Street, Pittston, PA 18640 in Ann Marie’s memory.
