Andrew Serniak, 79 of the Hudson section of Plains Twp., passed away Thursday evening, February 9, 2023 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp., PA.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Pearl (Trentowski) Serniak.

Andy was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1961, and attended Luzerne County Community College. He was employed as a mechanic in area factories until his retirement. Andy was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Pisack.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years is the former Theresa “Teri” Janerich, Hudson, daughter Denise Balent, Jenkins Twp., son Andrew Serniak, Jr., Hudson, brother Stephen Serniak, Swoyersville, and sister Debra Mercincavage and her husband Michael, Cherry Hill, NJ, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.
