Alvida “Bena” Eustice, 97 of Plains Township, passed away Saturday morning, January 31, 2015 at River Street Manor Nursing Home, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Plains, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Dini) Tontini.

Bena attended the Plains Township Schools and was employed by the Plains Jr. High School Cafeteria until her retirement. She was also a cook for the Sisters of Mercy for six years and also cooked for Monsignor McNulty for six years. She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Church, Plains, The Ramblin Rose Chapter of the Red Hat Society, loved to read, crochet, tatting, playing bingo and do word find. Bena was most known for her cooking and baking.

She was preceded in death by her Husband George on January 16 1990, Son, Richard, Daughter, Bernadine Kreshock, and Granddaughter Doris Ann Biniek. Sons-In Law, Kenneth Eberhardt and William J. Biniek, Brothers, Attilio, Harold and Fred Tontini and Sister, Florence Bellumori.

Surviving are her Sons, Eugene and his Wife Susan, Shickshinny, Joseph and his Wife Eileen, Kingston, Daughters, Jane Biniek, Plains, Mary Ann Rubin and her Husband Anthony, Evans Falls, Deanna Eberhardt, Thornhurst, 12 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren, Son –In-Law John Kreshock, Indian Lake, Daughter-in Law Josephine (Joan) Eustice, Indian Lake, Godchild Danielle Bellumori, Numerous Nephews and Nieces.

Bena’s family wishes to thank all her friends at River Street Manor, Nurses Aides, Cafeteria Workers, Therapy, Activities Staff and Bingo Buddies.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 9:30 am in SS Peter and Paul Church 13 Hudson Road Plains, PA 18705. Family and friends are asked to go directly to church Wednesday morning. Private interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains. Friends and family may call Tuesday afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, PA 18705.

Memorial donations may be made to the Wyoming Valley Children’s Association 1133 Wyoming Avenue Forty Fort, PA 18704 or to SS. Peter & Paul Church Food Pantry C/O 13 Hudson Road Plains, PA 18705.
