Stoesser June 9, 1918 - March 16, 2016 Service Date: March 21, 2016 Funeral Home Corcoran Funeral Home Inc Cemetery Memorial Shrine Burial Park Church Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc. Alfred E. Stoesser, 97 of West Wyoming, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 16, 2016 at the inpatient unit of Celtic Hospice, Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Alfred was the son of the late Robert and Ethel Stoesser. He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Coast Guard attaining the rank of Quartermaster Second Class and served aboard the USS Joyce. On April 16, 1944 the USS Joyce was responsible for the sinking of a U-550 U Boat that had been targeting shipping vessels in the Atlantic Ocean. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Kingston. Alfred was preceded in death by his Wife the former Florence Gedrick, Son, Robert J. Stoesser, and Grandson Kevin Lebrick. Surviving are his daughter Maureen Lebrick and her husband Edward, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; grandaughter Lea Rubini and her husband Daniel and great-grandaughter Gwendolyn Rubini. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains with Rev. Paul Metzloff, Pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Burial Park, Carverton section of Wyoming. Family and friends may call Monday morning from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home.Alfred E. Stoesser
