Albina C. Saracino, 93 of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday May 26, 2016 at United Methodist Homes, Wesley Village Campus, Jenkins, Twp., with her family by her side.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Cipriano and Amalia (Grosso) Cipriani.

Albina attended G.A.R. Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre, and was employed as a sewing machine operator by various local factories. She was a life member of Holy Rosary Church, Wilkes-Barre, until its closure and currently a member of St. Robert Bellermine Parish, St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre, and the I.L.G.W.U.

Albina was known for her wonderful cooking, delicious dinners, and her handmade crafts. She was also a lifelong self-taught musician, excelling in the piano, organ and accordion and had a love for all music.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Samuel Saracino on July 20, 2001, grandson Richard A. Mirro, brothers Raymond and Rinaldo Cipriani, sisters Laura Pascolini, and Millie Dunkleburger.

Albina’s family would like to thank the staff of Wesley Village, Partridge-Tippett, Compassionate Care Hospice and Dr. Guy Fasciana for their excellent care of their mother. The family would also like to thank Monsignor John Sempa for his prayers and guidance during this difficult time.

Surviving are her children Dolores Mirro and her husband Richard, Harding, Vincent Saracino and his wife Sharon, Wilkes-Barre, and Robert Saracino and his wife Debbie, Sarasota, FLA, grandchildren Nichole Urso, Jeffrey Mirro, Vincent Saracino, and Bobby Saracino, great-grandchildren Michael and Kristina Urso, sister Clara Santarelli, Plains, nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 9:00 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, PA 18705, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, St. Aloysius Church, 143 Division Street Wilkes-Barre, PA 18706. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Friends may call Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.

Memorial donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice 429 South Main Street Suite 10 Old Forge, PA 18518.
