Snarski, 76 of Plains Township, passed away peacefully Friday evening, March 12, 2021 at his home. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ann (Waznakowski) Snarski. Al was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Plains, Class of 1962 and attended Penn State University. Al was an Army Reservist, serving with the Military Police. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army Reserve, he was employed by Bell Atlantic, later Verizon for 35 years. Al worked a variety of positions, retiring as a switch operator. He was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin, where he served as an usher. Al also loved his car and could often been seen driving his 1995 Corvette. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Joseph J. Snarski on December 18, 2007. Surviving are his sons Christopher Snarski and his wife Amanda, West Pittston, and Timothy Snarski, Cary, North Carolina, grandchildren Cierra and Christopher, Jr., who were the Lights of his Life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 19, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Maria Goretti Church, 42 Redwood Drive, Laflin, PA 18702, with Father Seth Wasnock, Pastor, officiating. Private inurnment will be held in Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Plains. Family and friends are invited to a walk through visitation Friday morning from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at church. Due to the ongoing pandemic, restrictions have been put in place. Those attending the visitation, we ask that you be brief when paying your respects, please follow the practice of social distancing, and masks are required at all times at church.
